Catholic Syrian Bank the custodian of Sri Guruvayurappan's wealth!

Catholic Syrian Bank the custodian of Sri Guruvayurappan's wealth!7/25/2007 2:42:01 PM HK Correspondent
Guruvayur: Guruvayur Temple received Rs 1,53,73,401 in cash, 3.818 Kg of gold and 7.864 Kg of Silver were received as Hundi collection for the month of June said Devaswom administrator V Ratheesan. The Catholic Syrian Bank branch here had conducted the Hundi collection.
For several years, Dhanalakshmi Bank was in charge of counting and depositing of Guruvayoor Hundi collection. Christian Banking institutions have been eyeing for Hindu temple funds for several years. Since the British Christian colonial masters had confiscated Hindu temple lands, funds and property in Kerala, Christian organizations have been attempting encroach Hindu Temple lands and loot Hindu temple funds.

Since the Marxists have taken over Hindu Temples via Devasom Boards, they have appointed hard core anti Hindu Marxists and atheists as administrators of Guruvayoor temple and other famous Hindu temples. Now Marxists and Christians have made an unholy nexus in Kerala that has resulted in authorizing Catholic Syrian Bank controlled by Bishops as the custodian of Guruvayoor Temple funds. This very same bank is associated with Muringoor Christian Mafia centre which killed thousands of people through their fraudulent methods. No Hindus in Kerala are now discovering with profound disappointment that the various anti Hindu groups, Marxists and Christians are tearing apart Hindu society, temples and our sacred heritage. Hindus now understand that the anti Hindu Marxists, Christian fundamentalists and Jihadi terrorists have joined together to loot Hindu temple funds and land. Their strategy is real and it will harm Hindus. For phoney secularists and intellectual mafias, it is difficult to see the threat since they are moral relativists. They reject standards of morality, decency and fairness when it is concerned with Hindus. The fact is that freedom, fairness and justice can happen to Hindus only when we categorically say "NO' to these anti Hindu groups in strong terms. Our enemies must fear us. Our enemies must believe that they should act with us instead of against us to ensure their interests. It is not our perception that matters--it is the enemy’s perception that matters. Strength brings peace, justice, fairness and freedom. Hindu unity and strength will allow us to achieve our aims without having to commit to greater levels of conflict.
K.Venugopal 7/25/2007 8:57:36 PM
And this Catholic Syrian Bank is the very bank which opposed a takeover some years ago by some NRIs from Bangkok on the ground that the NRIs were Hindus. In fact, the Catholic Church called a special meeting to declare that Christian interests are under threat by such a takeover. Amen!

Christians clergy shows the way - Are we ready to follow?

Christians clergy shows the way - Are we ready to follow?7/20/2007 5:19:31 AM HK Correspondent
The Communists have made the folly of irking the Catholic Christian community and are now running pillar to post to try solving the issue.Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan ( PV ) had attacked the issuance of the pastoral letters attacking the government's educational policies in his true communist style. The Christian Church and the mafia under its control have started feeling the heat of the government putting breaks into its expansionist attitude. Little did comrade PV know that even his atheist party cannot withstand the power of the Christian clergy. But that’s all in the media for everyone to read and discuss. HK brings your focus onto another fact that our spineless Hindu community of Kerala needs to sit up and take notice. When the government issued statements that went against the general Hindu's mind, the Hindu community and leaders, except for Hindu Aikya Vedi, did not put up a strong front against the atheist minister G. Sudhakaran. So the government has promptly gone forward with its agenda and is now on the verge of taking over temples and dictating how Hindus should run their religion. Were as a small provocation from the communist against a small agenda of the Christians that aid its funding and conversion activities brought the whole clergy out in the public against the government and even had those issuing threats of a second revolution against the communist government like the earlier one which brought down the first Communist government of EMS in 1957. PV's press conference at the AKG centre showed a new face as an obedient servant of the mighty Church. He kneel down in front of the Bishops and beg pardon! He laments that his statements were misunderstood by the church! He recollects the cordial relation between Vatican and Cuba! He also reminds them that Communist’s are the only saviours of Christians who can defend them from majority Hindu Fascists!

It was evident that he had received his warnings to go into a defensive mode on the issue so that the LDF does not lose its Christian base. PV and his communist wand bagon must have thought they could bully the Christians like they did the Hindus. But they are terribly mistaken on this issue.

PV clearly says he didn't wish to interfere with the working of the clergy or the bishops. If this is so why are the communists so eager to meddle in the affairs of the Hindus and why are they permitting atheists illiterates like Sudhkaran to bad mouth our poojaris? Why is the Hindu communty silent? Is there just one Rahul Eswar to voice his protest without any Hindutva organizational support? The Christian clergy is afraid that the new policies will harm its educational business and could attract new tougher laws against their managements. The schools and hospitals started by he Christian community for helping the needy has fast grown into a money making empire which the Christians can't afford to let it go in a day.

This is an absolutely logical presentation of the points. I must congratulate the writer. I must add though Hindus in general are apathetic to matters concerning Hindus, there are amongst us great Hindus who have dedicated their lives to the Hindus. The tapas of such mighty souls will not go in vain. The glorious reawakening of the Hindus is not far off. Let's be not in doubt about this.

Mumbai flyover diverted to protect Haji Ali, then why not SSCP?-Togadia

7/22/2007 3:41:12 PM VHP
WHILE BUIDLING BRIDGES WITH ENEMY PAKISTAN,
DON’T BREAK BRIDGE OF HISTORY & FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN BHARAT & SRI LANKA

-Dr. Pravin Togadiya

“Sethu Samudram Project is nothing but an inhumanly cruel destruction of History, Ecological balance, Security & Passage of friendship with Srilanka. By giving futile excuse of development of an Oceanic Canal saving sea fuel costs & time, Government of India is not only trampling on the ancient faith & history but also misleading India & endangering ecology, security & a living of lakhs of fishermen at South Indian coasts.” Lamenting on the Sethu Samudram Project, VHP International General Secretary Dr Pravin Togadiya criticized the very basis of the project where the ancient bridge between India’s Rameshwaram & Sri Lanka is being broken by Govt of India.

Dr Togadiya further said,

“Those who question the faith of billions of Hindus that the said bridge is Ram Setu, built by Lord Ram & his army, very vehemently do everything possible to protect Haji Ali shrine in the Mumbai Sea. The costliest flyover over the sea joining 2 parts of Mumbai has been diverted at a whooping extra cost only not to break Haji Ali. There, the same people do not mind millions of dollars of the nation are spent on extra fuel which will be burnt by the cars due to that Haji Ali protecting diversion! Same is the case with Hazrat Bal. Without questioning the faith or asking for the DNA report if the hair in that place belongs really to Paigambar, the same people have been aiding it for years. Therefore, Government’s excuse to break the Ram Sethu is NOT really palpable to billions of Hindus all over the world when it is obvious that the Sethu Samudram Project has been started ONLY to appease minority by hurting religious sentiments of the Hindus eve en at the cost of NATION’S COASTAL BORDER SECURITY, PERMANENT LOSS OF ECOLOGICAL BALANCE PERHAPS PUTTING COASTAL SOUNTH INDIA IN THE DANGER OF TSUNAMI & DETROYING THE LIVELIHOOD OF LAKHS OF INDIAN FISHERMEN- INDUSTRIES DEPENDING ON SEA PRODUCE.”

Demanding that the Sethu Samudram Project be immediately stopped, Dr Togadiya assured that the Hindus are not against any development provided it protects the nation & its heritage as well as security. He said,

“The same government is opening borders to Pakistan through rail, roads, bridged, trade but entirely cutting off the heritage bridge of trade, social contact & friendship with Sri Lanka. The same 2 kms wide Ram Sethu had been used by the people who come to Tamil Nadu for social visits, trade & Jyotirlingam Rameshwaram worship. Government gives millions of tax payers rupees as Haj subsidy for Indian Muslims to visit their religious place in Saudi Arabia, but breaks India’s own heritage bridge just because it is closer to the faith & hearts of billions of Hindus. Canal can be made in the coastal land for the boats without breaking Ram Sethu & Hindus will support it but if in spite of many feasible options for the canal, if the Government if bent upon breaking Ram Sethu to appease minority & hurt billions of Hindus, than globally Hindus will protest in a democratic manner to save Ram Sethu.”

While announcing the planned democratic protests against the Sethu Samudram Project, Dr Togadiya also explained the historical, scientific, and environmental as well as security related aspects of the Ram Sethu & the ill effects of the proposed Sethu Samudram Project in a detailed document.

Curse of being a 'Bharathiya Hindu' and Gift of being a 'Indian Muslim'

Curse of being a 'Bharathiya Hindu' and Gift of being a 'Indian Muslim'7/19/2007 3:40:10 AM HARAN.B.R
The terror suspect Haneef, who is cooling his heels in Australian detention center, is a close relative (cousin) of the Ahmed brothers, who were involved in the failed bombing attempts in London & Glasgow. Haneef has stayed with the Ahmed brothers in UK, lent his sim card to one of them before leaving for Australia and had been in touch with them even after coming to Australia. He was alleged to have contacts with them until the day of the failed attempts and it seems he had arranged to fly to India in the last minute. But, he, his family and his supporters claim that he is innocent and the senseless pseudo secular media of our country also toes the same line.

The pseudo-secular media, both print & electronic, has been addressing these terrorists as "Indians" or "Indian Doctors", much to the embarrassment & insult of the Indians belonging to other communities. Whereas in the past, we have seen our media addressing the members of Hindu organizations as "Hindu fundamentalists" or "Hindu fanatics" or "Saffron Brigade", etc. Our country has been an unfortunate victim of Islamic terrorism for ages and our media has never ever used the word "Islamic terrorists", while reporting all those incidents.

Our government, which lost its sleep on the plight of the family of the Jihadis (Ahmed brothers), went out of the way to express its deep concern to the Australian government on the treatment of the terror suspect Haneef, after again seeing the plight of his family, thereby interfering in the affairs of that country. The UPA government also summoned the Australian High Commissioner in India to convey its feelings. The one and only reason for all these things to happen is that, the terror suspects belong to the minority community and voicing for their welfare is deemed as a vote-catching exercise.

But, on the contrary, when the Executive Director of FCI, Mr. P.C.Ram was kidnapped & held hostage by the ULFA for months and ultimately when he got killed in the cross fire between the militants & police force, both the government & the media were unconcerned, indifferent and showed scant regards. Again, when ten people including Mines Manager Kailsh Jha and Security officer Madankumar Bora of CCI were kidnapped by Kabri Longri North Cachar Liberation front (KLNLF) militants and later, when Kailsh Jha died of heart attak in their custody and when Madankumar was killed, the government & media were not much worried! The point to note here is Ram, Kailash Jha & Madankumar were all Hindus and they were "Public Servants" and not "terrorists" or "terror suspects" belonging to minority community. But still, either the government or the media did not show much concern to the sad plight of those public servants' families and no one lost their sleep, but for those families! It seems, being a "Bharathiya Hindu" is a 'curse' and being an "Indian Muslim" is a 'Gift'! Cheers to Minority appeasement and long live our secularism! Vandemataram!
K.Venugopal 7/19/2007 10:41:46 AM
There was a telling point made by Shri B.P. Singhal in a TV interview when he said that the UPA Government, which appears very concerned about Dr. Haneef being given a bad name by the Australian Government, did not show scant concern when one of our revered and famous Gurus, Swami Kripaluji Maharaj, who is 85 years old, was accused recently in Trinidad of molesting a woman and arrested. Subsequently, the prosecution itself conceded that the charges are baseless and apologized to the Swami and the Court acquitted Swamiji.
Make no mistake about it – the only politicians in India who are concerned about Hindus are those who have an RSS background. All the rest have their hearts beating for Muslims or at least their votes.

Imagine the pay out amount if all the catholic nuns also joined the case and demanded for compensation! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,56098,00.htmlhttp://www.cta-usa.org/watch04-01/abuseofnuns.html

And mind you, the victims were only from one diocese - the Los Angeles archdiocese. Just going by the law of averages, there must be numerous victims in other dioceses also. Not to mention other churches. They too might be tempted to sue, leading to more payoffs. This in Christendom. What about Islamdom and Hindudom? Lusty fellows are everywhere. Really, what is required is not a payoff culture to assuage the victims, but bringing to justice the perpetrators of such immorality.

Coimbatore blast verdict- Kerala on terror alert

Coimbatore blast verdict- Kerala on terror alert7/15/2007 3:04:24 PM Media Inputs
Thiruvananthapuram:Intelligence agencies alerted about possible terrorist attacks in Kerala depending upon the verdict on the case related to the Coimbatore bomb blast as one of the main accused Abdul Nasser Madani is from Kerala. The much awaited verdict is likely to come on August 1st. Madani a deadly terrorist is considered as one of the front line leaders of creating fissures in the society of Kerala with rabble rousing speeches against Hindus in the state.

There are tips from Kerala special branch also that there can be some developments regarding the verdicts in this case and the central agencies are closely monitoring the case and how the hard core elements would react to this.
K.Venugopal 7/16/2007 11:56:21 AM
Since the communist government and congress opposition are only likely to deal with the Muslims with kid-gloves, any violence the Muslims may unleash (on who else but the Hindus) must be countered head-on ruthlessly by the Hindus themselves. Otherwise, we will be the losers as usual. Therefore let us be prepared.

Deal of the Century-To cover up sex abuse of Church!

Deal of the Century-To cover up sex abuse of Church!
7/16/2007 2:24:58 AM HK
In what can be called as the deal of the century, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is brokering a deal of 660 million US dollars to pay compensation to over 500 sex abuse victims. These victims were abused over a period of time by the priests of the Church. Ironically they will be paying this out of the money put in by the believers!! Cardinal Roger Mahoney says that the abuses that go back to the 40's will not happen again. But how much faith has the congregation lost on this account? Can the faith and belief of the people be brought with money? The offer for compensation came after they were threatened to produce the files of these cases over the years to court. The Church would have then had to explain how they covered up these cases as when it came.

Like the Sister Abhaya case on Kerala, the priests were usually transferred off to a different country hoping to be rehabilitated. But did it solve the problem? Have these priests then become habitual offenders? What is the punishment in America for covering up a rape case and protecting criminals? Half of this amount is to be covered by insurance agencies. Had the Church foreseen such Sexual adventures by the clergy and added it in the insurance agreements?
In any case this would be path breaking method for the Christian clergy to settle disputes with the law by paying them off.
K.Venugopal 7/16/2007 11:43:17 AM
Prostitution is defined as sex for money. In seeking to pay the sexually abused victims money without having the perpetrators stand the court of law, is the Church treating the victims as mere prostitutes?

Pratibha Patil, True Story - Part I – by Arun Shourie (Disturbing Credentials)

Pratibha Patil, True Story – by Arun Shourie (Disturbing Credentials) -Part 1
6/28/2007 3:17:19 PM
Electing a President, rashtramaataa

'A big step for women… This shows India has a lot of respect for women… My nomination will inspire other women and help their empowerment…' – that is how Pratibha Patil described her selection as the UPA candidate for being our President. Loyalists, of course, went one better. 'A firm believer in women's causes and a tireless champion of spreading education among girls… One who always stands for a better deal for women… active role in checking such evils as female foeticide and dowry...' 'Working women of Mumbai hail…' 'Yes, Ma'am Commander' – Armymen look forward to reporting to first woman Supreme Commander of Armed Forces…

And all this within two days of her selection.

Her bio-data lists her 'special interests' as 'development of rural economy and welfare of women', and lists as evidence, 'Establishment of Pratibha Mahila Sahakari Bank at Jalgaon, Maharashtra… of Mahila Vikas Mahamandal…' It records her being Managing Trustee, Shram Sadhana Trust, as her being the 'Chief Promoter and Chairperson of Sugar Factory in Jalgaon District'. It records her having set up the Engineering College 'for the benefit of rural youth'…

We start with the 'cooperative bank' she set up in her own name to help other women – the Pratibha Mahila Sahakari Bank.

Although this is listed in her bio-data, and although it has been referred to again and again by newspapers, how is it that neither the bio-data nor the newspapers mention that the bank has actually been liquidated? Under orders of the Reserve Bank of India, no less. And that too on the telling ground that its continuance would be prejudicial to the interests of depositors.

Brief history

Pratibha Patil established the bank in 1973 with herself as the chairperson, and with many members of her own family as its directors. She herself became a director for several terms. As for members of her family, they inter-changed, among themselves, the chairs of the Board of Directors in one 'election' after another. But while others changed places, Pratibha Patil continued as Founder Chairperson right till the demise of the bank.

Since the bank was not being managed properly, the Reserve Bank of India, in 1995, included it in its list of 'weak banks' and placed it under rehabilitation 'due to heavy erosion in its assets as observed in the inspection in March 1994.'

The RBI conducted an in-depth inspection of the bank's functioning again in 2002. In his order dated 25 February 2003, P.B . Mathur, Executive Director of the RBI, stated that the inspection revealed the following irregularities:

1: The real or exchangeable value of the bank's paid-up share capital and reserves stands at minus Rs. 197.67 lakh. Thus, the bank is not having adequate assets to meet its liabilities. The bank does not comply with the RBI's requirement of minimum share capital…

2: The ratio of the net erosion to net owned funds of the bank is as high as 312.4% and the erosion in the value of the bank's assets has not only wiped out its owned funds but has also affected the deposits to the extent of Rs. 197.67 lakh, forming 26% of total deposits…

3: The gross NPAs of the bank, that is loans that have gone bad, amount to 65.8% of the total loans and advances…

4: The Board has not made any concerted effort to improve the bank's financial position and bring it out of the weak status…

As a consequence, the RBI in its order stated: 'Having regard to all the facts, the Reserve Bank of India is satisfied that allowing the bank to carry on banking business any further would be detrimental to the interest of the present and future depositors and hence the license granted to the PRATIBHA MAHILA SAHAKARI BANK LTD. is hereby cancelled.'

Who got the loans?

But how did the assets of the bank get eroded? Why did this 'cooperative bank' – functioning as it must have been in the interests of its members – not take any action to retrieve the loans and instead endanger its very existence? Remember that the order of the RBI to liquidate the bank was not a sudden bolt. The RBI had put the bank on its list of 'weak banks' in 1995, that is a full eight years before the RBI had to decide that it just must be liquidated, and cancelled its license. Throughout these eight years why did Board not make any "concerted effort to improve the bank's financial position"?

A brief list of the sorts of persons who had been given the 'loans' and were not repaying them, tells the tale.

______________________________ ______________________________
Notice that among the women that were being empowered by this cooperative for women – this Pratibha Mahila Sahakari Bank – were the brother and nephews of Pratibha Patil! Males behind the Muslim veil, Dr. Watson!

For my friends, the champions of employees' unions

The Cooperative Bank Employees Union wrote one memorandum after another exposing how the directors of the Pratibha Mahila Sahakari Bank were systematically bankrupting the bank. They demanded dismissal of the family-controlled board. They demanded 'a CBI inquiry against Pratibha Patil, former Deputy Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha, for the irregularities in the bank'. They wrote these letters, in Marathi, to the relevant authorities in Maharashtra looking after the affairs of cooperative banks. They sent them to the then President, to the then Prime Minister, to among others, 'Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition (Lok Sabha)…'

In one such lengthy memorandum dated 3.12.2001, the Employees' Union complained, 'Founder Chairperson Pratibha Patil – during, before and after the period when she was formally on the Board of Directors – has facilitated the loot of large sums of money in the form of unlawful loans without surety extended to her own relatives and to people close to her family.' The Union alleged that, even though the bank was on the verge of bankruptcy, Pratibha Patil got huge amounts of interest waived on the loans given to her close relatives. As illustrations, they listed three such accounts:

1) Anjali Dilipsingh Patil (Pratibha Patil's niece), who got a waiver of Rs. 21.86 lakh;

2) Kavita Aravind Patil (sister-in-law of Pratibha Patil), who got a waiver of Rs. 8.59 lakh; and

3) Rajkaur Dilipsingh Patil (another sister-in-law of Pratibha Patil), who got a waiver of Rs. 2.47 lakh.

The waivers given, the accounts were promptly closed!

This, the Union stated, 'is a loot of Rs. 32.93 lakh'. You will not be surprised to learn that, within the bank, the complaint got nowhere. And for good reason: the legal advisor to the bank was Pratibha Patil's elder brother, Dilipsingh Patil, and Dilipsingh Patil's own wife was one of the beneficiaries of the loan waiver!
'The purpose of the cooperative movement,' the Union's letter stated, 'is to promote people's economic, social and educational development and thereby strengthen patriotism in them. But (in this bank), Pratibha Patil, her elder brother Dilipsingh Patil and the Board of Directors have, through different means, robbed nearly Rs. 2 crore… The bank is thus being bankrupted through a collusive strategy.' 'What kind of morality is this?,' the Union asked.

In a writ filed in the Bombay High Court – Pratibha Patil is one of the respondents in the case -- the employees of the bank also said something else that will be of particular interest to our champions of social justice. They said, 'The respondent Directors have also appointed staff without following the recruitment procedure that the posts are reserved for reserve categories such as S.C., S.T., O.B.C. The managing Directors have appointed their relatives as employees of the Bank…'

To rescue the bank from imminent demise, the Union demanded 'seizure of the property of Smt. Pratibha Patil, her brother Dilipsingh Patil and her relatives'. In addition it demanded an inquiry into how they had amassed 'such huge assets'.

As a result of this memorandum, the Department of Cooperatives, Government of Maharashtra, initiated an inquiry. Even as the inquiry was going on, a past president of the Employees Union, Anantsingh Patil, wrote an ever-so-helpful letter to Pratibha Patil, on the Union's letterhead, informing her that she had nothing to do with the irregularities of the bank! He even tendered an apology to her on behalf of the Union! The Union nails the lie. It points to several telling facts. For instance, it says, on 22, January, 2002, the Board had met and, much as the Congress does today !, by resolution no. 23, authorized Pratibha Patil to decide who should be on the Board of Directors and who should be the bank's Chief Executive.

But the matter did not end with the Union's letter or the inquiry of the Maharashtra Government's Cooperative Department. The Reserve Bank of India went into the waiver also. In its confidential inspection report dated 18 June, 2002, found the charge of financial fraud involving those large interest waivers to Pratibha Patil's three close relatives to be valid. It also noted that the Board had not taken approval of the AGM for the loan waiver.

Some women were certainly getting empowered!

A pattern

Memoranda of the Employees Union show that such enterprising sleights-of-account-books were part of a pattern. The memoranda and communications were sent to, among others, Pratibha Patil herself. For instance, in a letter to her on 13 March, 2002, the President, Vice-president and Secretary of the Union informed her that
·
She had allowed her elder brother, Dilipsingh Patil, to use the bank's telephone (no. 224672, which he had got installed at his residence) for running his stock exchange business. He ran up a bill of Rs. 20 lakh. Phone records showed that the calls were made to sharebrokers in Mumbai. These records were subsequently destroyed. But later the charge was found to be one of substance. It was one of the things that Amol Khairnar, who was appointed as the chief administrator of bank, asked P.D. Patil, manager of the bank, to explain in the show-cause notice that the former issued on 1 February, 2003.
·
The show-cause notice also mentioned that the Pratibha Mahil Sahakari Bank had extended unlawful loans to the Sant Muktabai Cooperative Sugar Factory from time to time. As you will recall, the sugar factory too was set up by Pratibha Patil herself to help rural youth! It was inaugurated by Sonia Gandhi in 1999. As The Asian Age has reported, like the Pratibha Mahila Sahakari Bank, the mill too has closed down – but only after running up a loan default of nearly Rs. 20 crore and without ever producing much sugar!
·
The bank also gave loans to undeserving persons to buy shares of the Sant Muktabai Cooperative Sugar Factory. Pratibha Patil and her brothers did so for a reason that my good friend of long-standing, Sharad Pawar would again find nothing extraordinary: they did so in order to retain control over the sugar factory by having these shareholders support her in 'elections' to the cooperative.

If you don't stop…

'It is because of these reasons that the bank is now on the verge of going bankrupt,' the Employees Union charged. It then posed a question to her that those – like my friend Sharad Pawar -- who are making light of this state of affairs in the bank on the ground that such things are nothing new in cooperatives would like to answer: 'Whom should the society trust if politicians like you start cooperative institutions to rob the hard-earned wealth of ordinary people?'

And then come two paragraphs that should be weighed in the scale of the high office to which Pratibha Patil is being catapulted. Before concluding, the Union's President, Vice-president and Secretary state, 'You are the Founder Chairperson of this bank, but you are today attempting, out of selfish reasons, to lead the bank to its demise. You know that the RBI has decided to cancel the bank's license if its financial condition does not improve by March 2002. Once the license is cancelled and the bank is liquidated, you are quite capable of covering-up the fraud you have committed on the bank and the people of this region by using your influence on the Government of Maharashtra.'

And then comes the last para. To get to know our next President, the one who will be the Guardian of our Constitution, do read it twice: 'There is threat to our lives and to the lives of our family members from you. You have already communicated this to us in our meeting with you. Although you have made us aware of this threat, we are prepared to lay down our lives for the pursuit of truth. If something happens to us or to members of our families, accidentally or otherwise, you will be responsible for it, which please note.'

And a letter from the women who were to be empowered

We have focused on 'women' who got loans. But who were the depositors? They were the poor women of the area – who were eking out a living by selling vegetables, by collecting rags… What were they telling our 'firm believer in women's causes', our 'tireless champion of…'? A representative, and typically plaintive letter from them, awakens us to their wail:

'We opened accounts in your bank trusting that it had been established to help poor women and to come to their aid in times of need. You know that the bank is now on the brink of bankruptcy. Therefore, a crisis is looming before ordinary depositors. Politicians plant saplings on Tree Plantation Day and get their photographs printed in newspapers the next day. But they don't take care of the sapling thereafter. This bank too was a sapling that you had planted. It was growing well and promised to bear fruit. It had given shelter to you too. Then who killed this tree? Once the bank is liquidated, those who took the loans do not have to worry, just as when a sahukar dies, the persons to whom he had lent money heave a sigh of relief. But what about poor women depositors like us who are vegetable vendors, fruit-sellers, rag-pickers, etc, who saved our meager earnings in your bank, hoping that the money would be useful to us in our old age or for the marriage of our daughters? Pratibhatai, we tried a lot to meet you personally. We were unsuccessful. But you know everything. Therefore, we urge you to disclose the names of all those culprits who are responsible for the bankruptcy of our bank.'
And what did our tireless champion of women's rights, our devotee of rural development do?

I believe Arun Shourie wrote on the subject in 3 installments. Please publish them all, and also anything else that Shourie writes on the subject. Shourie has a reputation of being absolutely credible in his writings. It looks like the UPA government is going to be in trouble for nominating her.

BALARAMAPURAM : One of the class teacher in Punnamodu govt. higher secondary school yesterday distributed Bibles to the students and forced them to read it at home. Hindu Aikiya Vedi Balaramapuram Taluk Samithi strongly criticized this move by the class teacher and warned the school authorities.

Distribution of a book, that too in a school, should not be seen as a crime. Moreover, everyone should read the Bible. It is, if nothing, a famous book. We should similarly distribute the Gita and invite the students to listen to talks on Bible and Gita. We would be more influential because Bible treats man as a weakling requiring faith in Jesus (who himself did not have faith and cried to God for forsaking him while on the cross - thereby requiring his followers to cover-up his failure by inventing the fable that he arose from death!) whereas Gita treats man as the source of all power and calls man to wake up to this fact and realise his immortality.

Mr Venugopal is simply quibbling when he mentions that distribution of bible should not be taken as a crime. It is quite funny that he thinks school children have no other work to attend to but strive to become experts in theology by indulging in comparative study of religion! Be that as it may why Mr Venugopal confines himself to Bible and Gita only? Why not Quoran or Tora or all together? To reduce the burden on children? Small mercy indeed.Hundreds of thousands of theologians of Christian and Muslim religions for more than one thousand four hundred years,i.e,after the advent of Islam, have been busy studying comparative merits of their religions and they have not moved an inch forward. And now the merit is decided in a practical way- the Christians bomb all Islamic states for no concievable reasons and Islamists cut the throats of the christians for the same reason. Both together contibutes to the major chaos of the world. And think of of it-it is done in the name of the two books, the Bible and Quoran. Mr Venugopal, pleae spare the children of the Bible also in the same manner you would not advise them to read the Quoran.
