Angadippuram Thali Temple set fire by Islamic terrorists

Angadippuram Thali Temple set fire by Islamic terrorists8/30/2007 11:34:27 PM HK
MALAPPURAM: A group of Kerala based Islamic terrorist organization NDF today set fire of Angadippuram Thali Temple near Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district at 3 am early this morning. The main door of the temple has been gutted. A number of petrol cans were found by the Police nearby area.

Hindu Aikiya Vedi and Kshethra Samrakshna Samithi has called for a hartal in Angadipupuram area today. Various Hindu organizations strongly criticized the incident and demanded the immediate ban of NDF and take strong action against this terrorist organization. Senior Police officials believe NDF is behind this incident.

Hundreds of devotees are blocked the main roads of Angadippuram in protest against the temple attack.

A large contingent of police has been deployed in the area.

What? Temple devotees attacked yesterday and Temple itself set on fire today? And we are calling for the NDF to be banned? Whom are we kidding? Would pro-Islamic government and opposition agree to it? Would banning it make any difference in Malapuram district? This cancer of Islamic aggression has grown to almost uncontrollable proportions. Unless we destroy it it is going to destroy us. Let us fight, if necessary, to the finish. What are we waiting for?

Hey, what's happening? Temple attacked, women devotees injured and the culprits wait for the convenience of a police arrest? Where were the enraged Hindus? Did they not go after the culprits? They should have been lynched. Have Hindus moved into the twilight zone of being neither here nor there?

Gold for Pomp and Brick for Bakthi!

Gold for Pomp and Brick for Bakthi!8/27/2007 11:39:32 AM B.R. Haran
At a place called "Malaikodi" (Hill-end), 6 kms from Vellore, North Arcot district of Tamil Nadu, a "Golden Temple", yes, literally a golden temple, has been built for Goddess Mahalakshmi and the 'consecration' was performed on the auspicious day of "Varalakshmi Viratham", which fell on Friday the 24th of august 2007. The area of 100 acres covered for the Temple is called "Sri Puram" or " Spiritual Park", which is worth 600 crores. Apart from the Temple, the park also comprises a hospital & a guesthouse and a hotel is being constructed. The Temple constructed area is 55,000 Sq.Ft. and the entire Temple is covered with Gold plated Copper sheets. The main deity Mahalakshmi is made of Granite and covered with gold plating and jewels. The exterior walls and 36 pillars were all covered with gold plated Copper sheets and all the pillars have glowing motifs of elephants, swans and lotuses. Around 15 crystal Austrian chandeliers are placed in the 'Mukha Mandapam' and the central chandelier is supposed to be made of 24 carat Gold. The total quantity of gold used in building the Temple is a phenomenal 1.5 tonnes. More than 500 gold smiths & copper smiths, who are the descendents of "Sthapathis" from Thirumala-Thirupathi, are supposed to have worked for six years to create this golden marvel.

This golden wonder has been conceived and designed by a 31 years old God man calling himself as "Sakthi Amma" of "Narayani Peetam". He claims he is the incarnation of the goddess. He is also called as "Narayani Amma". He said that he expects millions of devotees from world over to visit this place and return with wisdom & peace of mind. He confirmed that he had mobilized around 300 crores from his followers across the world and the required gold bars have been brought through Reserve Bank of India. He had also trumpeted his 'secular' credentials by saying "300 messages of wisdom taken from the Gita, Bible and Quoran have been written along the pathway, which lead to the Temple". One wonders what has Bible & Quoran have got to do with Hinduism & Mahalakshmi! Why couldn't he choose from the millions of messages of wisdom flooded in the Vedas & Upanishads? He had also said "The Taj Mahal was built for "love", but the Sri Puram is now built for "unconditional love". This is also one of the wonders of the world!"

Is it an attempt to equate Taj with Temple or Mumtaz with Mahalakshmi?

This man "Sakthi Amma" alias "Narayani Amma" is just 31 years of age and it is believed that his Narayani Peetam was instituted in the year 1992, during which time he must have been 16 years old! Despite the fact that the 'Sthapathis' have been working on this project for the last six years, it is a surprise that neither the project nor the God man hit the headlines all these years! No one seems to know about the development of such a glorious campus covering 100 acres! Who is this god man? From where he had come? Who is his guru? What is that he had learnt in such a short span of life to call himself as a spiritual leader? What are his qualifications & credentials? What is his antecedent? Who is behind him? All these questions have to be answered and a thorough probe is needed.

Forget about this god man! But this story of the golden Temple is truly disturbing! I have great fascination towards visiting Temples and I love pilgrimages and even during my official / business tours I used to steal some time amidst my work to visit the Temples of historical importance, which are situated close to my staying place. I have visited tens of hundreds of Temples in Tamil Nadu. I have seen the extreme cases, that is, Small & Big Temples, crowded & bringing terrific revenue to the governments and Small & Big Temples in a pathetic state earning for some one's attention. I would say that our lifetime is not enough to cover the Temples of just Thanjavur (erstwhile Thanjavur comprising Thiruvarur & Nagapattinam) district alone and the same holds good for Chingleput (Kanchipuram) and Thirunelveli districts also. Even the "Coimbatore-Erode-Salem" region has fantastic Temples of ancient times. The architectural wonder, artistic splendor and the engineering marvel of the Temples of Tamil Nadu are amazing!

During my travels, I have come across many Temples in extremely dilapidated conditions craving for the people's attention. Many Temples do not have even oil for lighting the lamps and many other Temples do not have the money to perform even a single time pooja! And mind you, most of them are a minimum of 800 to 900 years old with ancient history and "Sthal Puran" behind them! Most of those Temples have deities praised by either "Nayanmars" or "Alwars"! Lack of priests is another problem faced by these Temples and I have seen single priests running around for the maintenance of five or six Temples trying to perform at the least one time pooja. While visiting such Temples, I used to shed tears and I have spent sleepless nights after seeing the condition of those Temples and the poor & sincere priests. There are many Temples, which are surviving simply because of the devotion & dedication of those poor priests.

At this juncture, we all must remember the clarion call given by the Great Sage of Kanchi, Shri. Paramacharya advising us to take the renovation & consecration of thousands of dilapidated Temples in our country as an ardent duty & sincere commitment, instead of going on building new ones.

Let us not spend our hard earned money on self-styled god men. Let us resolve to help the renovation and consecrations of thousands of dilapidated Temples in our country, where the Almighty god truly resides!

The need is not gold or granite, but brick & cement and oil & lamp!

May God Bless us All!

I am surprised by this post. Just because the writer does not know the 'Godman' does not mean he is unknown. Otherwise how is it possible for such a golden temple to have come up in his name? Just because one person or area suffers a lack it does not mean all others should come to a standstill till that lack is remedied. Reality does not work that way. The writer claims to have visited temples big and small far and wide. Obviously he must have spent a tidy sum for all his pilgrimages. Did he ensure at least in his neighborhood there was no starvation before be ventured to go on pilgrimage? If the writer has dug up any dirt on the 'Godman', let him proclaim it. Till that time, I suggest innuendoes are highly unfair.

Bombings & Sufferings! - Solution?

Bombings & Sufferings! - Solution?
8/26/2007 1:00:01 PM B.R.Haran
The communally sensitive city of Hyderabad has born the brunt of two major bomb blasts in two crowded areas namely Lumbini Park (open air theatre) and Koti (Gokul Chat restaurant), in which 40+ innocent people including women and children have died and a 100+ have been injured. Unexploded bombs have been recovered from seven other places in the city. The state police have been acutely lethargic despite the warning reports from the Intelligence agencies! The state police have confirmed the involvement of Islamic terror groups & ISI and are speculating on HUJI (Hurkat-Ul-Jihad-Al Islamin), which masterminded the Mecca Masjid blasts on the 18 th of May this year. The usage of class-2 explosives "Neo gel-90" along with "Alarm clock-time devises" have also been confirmed and the bombs were allegedly placed in plastic bags.
The Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and the Chief Minister have conveyed their ceremonial condemnations. The UPA chairperson Madam Sonia would soon visit the victims in the hospitals and a compensation of one or two lakhs would be announced. The 24X7 Channels would organize candle light processions to show case the "resolve & spirit" of the Hyderabadis. After condemning the blasts late in the evening yesterday, the government has gone to "sleep". Probably after two or three days when the TV channels show the plight of the families of arrested terrorists, the government would lose its sleep and come out with another committee similar to the Sachar committee to find out why the Muslims are taking part in terror activities and come to a conclusion that due to poverty and lack of education they indulge in terror acts. The committee would also 'manage' figures to show that the Muslim community is lacking behind others in all aspects of livelihood. The media and the intellectuals would recommend for the implementation of the committee's reports & recommendations. The government would come out with a lot of sops for the development & empowerment of the community.

The investigations would start and it might take five or ten or even fifteen years to solve the case and bring the perpetrators to book. In the meantime many more attacks would happen and the ceremonial condemnations & candle lit processions would follow. When will this terror end? What mechanism has the present government got to put an end to this Muslim Madness called terrorism? How many more innocent lives have to be lost? Is it for this spate of terror that this government hurriedly withdrew POTA? What steps the government is going to take to equip the police force and improvise their network and operations? What is the final solution?

The solution will come only when the government believes that help from ISI and other foreign terror groups are not needed for the local terror elements and that the local terrorists have become experts in making bombs and exploding them. Solution will come only when the government believes that the Islamic terrorists are aided & abetted by a large section of Indian Muslim community! Solution will come only when the porous borders are kept under surveillance giving full freedom to the Armed Forces! Solution will come only when the government wakes up to the menace of illegal immigration of Bangladeshis! Solution will come only when it keeps the Armed forces & Police forces away from the purview of the so-called human rights commissions! Solution will come only when the government accepts the facts as it sees and develops a will with arms of iron & nerves of steel to crush this terror menace! It has come to a stage that the majority community is unable to celebrate its festivals in peace in its own country! Bombings have become the birth right of Islamic terrorists and sufferings have become the order of the day for innocent public! The present government has proved yet again that it is inept, inefficient & ill equipped! Infertility can be treated, but not impotency. UPA is impotent!

All sorts of political groups resort to terrorism. LTTE, Naxlites, Ulfa . . . but what makes Islamic terrorism unique is that they do so in the name of Allah, their God. The way to turn the Muslims away from terrorism in the name of Allah is to make them understand - or at least the coming generation - that their concept of God, and hence their religion, is wrong. Islam is structured to create slaves for their intolerant God. Compare it with Hinduism, which is structured to make man realise his divinity. A massive world-wide educational scheme on this fundamental truth must be undertaken to save the world from being destroyed by Islam.

Eminent leftist writer-activist praised Narendra Modi

Eminent leftist writer-activist praised Narendra Modi8/26/2007 12:35:55 PM Daily Pioneer
NEW DELHI : Reflecting the increasing isolation of the Left Front in the intelligentsia, West Bengal's eminent Leftist writer-activist Mahashweta Devi feels that it has achieved "very little" in its 30 years of rule in the State.

Delivering the ninth DS Borker Memorial here on My Vision of India: 2047 AD, she rubbished the Left Front Government of West Bengal for non-performance and praised Narendra Modi's Gujarat for strides made in grassroots-level development.

"I was deeply impressed to see how strong the work culture is in Gujarat. The city and village roads are well-built, even the remotest villages have electricity and drinking water. I was especially impressed with the medical facilities in the panchayats and local-level health centres. Not at all like West Bengal where, even now, villages and panchayat areas have hardly any electricity and where the Government's so-called swasthya pariseva (healthcare service) is totally non-existent," she said. "In West Bengal, which has been under a CPI(M)-led Left Government for 30 years, little has been achieved," the writer said. She also alleged that starvation deaths and child mortality are "rampant" in West Bengal.

Calling herself a bookworm, the octogenarian writer said she read books on history, folklore and folk proverbs. "One needs to go to the villages and meet the villagers. Perhaps that is how I started knowing India. Now, even at 82, I am still doing so through my visits to Nandigram."
K.Venugopal 8/27/2007 4:24:54 AM Everyone is praising Narendra Modi. Why then is there an impression that some sections of Sangha Parivar are against Modi, particularly VHP? Is there a feeling that he is positioning himself as more important than the organisation? Or is the charge that he has become contemptuous of the organisation? Or are his critics basically undisciplined? These issues must be addressed and the principles laid down so that we do not slip into a lose-lose situation.

PDP, NDF together?

PDP, NDF together?8/26/2007 8:33:55 PM Daily Pioneer

Immediately after his release from Coimbatore Central prison Abdul Nasser Madani was given a tumultuous welcome by his family, friends, relatives and his party in Thiruvananthapuram.

The crowd had thronged the Shankumugam beach just to listen to what he was speaking and among the most eager listeners was State Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

The CPI(M) on its eagerness to rope in Madani and his followers to the Left fold had sent senior leaders of the party to attend the function and Pinarayi Vijayan had even been to Coimbatore central jail when Madani was lodged there.

The first public speech of Madani was a calculated and sober one to make sure that the crowd still likes him or rather to prove that he is still a crowd-puller.

Unfortunately for a large gathering of Muslim youth who arrived at Shankumugham Beach to listen to him he was making peace even with his tormentors. Madani's speech was taken with diverse opinions by the people who thronged the venue as well as those who are deeply immersed in the social and political scene of the State.

There were disappointments amongst the radical elements in the Muslim community and those who were close to Madani during the period before his sojourn in the Coimbatore prison were of the opinion that this Madani and his brand of politics will not have any takers in the State and that he would not be accepted.

In other words a Madani with a sophisticated tongue is not wanted in the highly polarised Muslim politics of the State where there is Kunhalikutty and the Muslim League for the soft and secular image.

Madani for one knows the sufferings in jail and does not want to repeat any of the old follies but some of his close
confidants who included certain former Maoist leaders from the Muslim community have persuaded him to join the aggressive Muslim politics of the State which was in fact his baby but now nourished and developed by the NDF.

According to sources in the PDP, there have been some rounds of talks between the PDP leaders including Madani and the NDF leaders. The NDF does have the cadre but no proper public face and they wanted Madani to take over the mantle of leadership.

The sources told The Pioneer that this agreement is almost final and that the immediate differences of opinion are being ironed out. It is in this context that the recent summersault of the CPI(M) with respect to Madani.

At the reception organised to Madani the other day at Kozhikode all the senior leaders of the CPI(M) kept off. This according to sources is due to the specific instructions communicated by the party State leadership. There were also reports that Madani had discussions with Jawahirulla the leader of the Tamil Muslim Munnetra Kazhakam (TMMK).

With Madani joining with the NDF the politics of the State can witness turmoil and the Central Intelligence Bureau officers are keeping their mouth shut regarding the latest developments.

Like the climate in Arabia, where the options are only hot and hotter, Muslim politics can only be communal and more communal, whether represented by Muslim League, NDP or PDP. I hope the BJP would not one day make the mistake of aligning with 'secular' Muslim League!

Onam: A festival to welcome the legendary king, Mahabali

Onam: A festival to welcome the legendary king, Mahabali
8/26/2007 8:36:29 PM Daily Pioneer
As Malayalees celebrate Onam today, a lookback on what Onam is and how it became so popular is worth knowing. Like any other festival Onam too has its own legend and King Mahabali is the most fascinating of all the legends.

Onam celebrates the visit of King Mahabali to the State of Kerala every year. The festival is celebrated with fervour as King Mahabali is respected by one and all. King Mahabali is also popular as Maveli and Onathappan.

The story goes back to the days when the beautiful Kerala was ruled by Asura (Demon) King Mahabali. The King was greatly respected in his kingdom and was considered to be wise, judicious and extremely generous. It is said that Kerala lived its golden era during the reign of King Mahabali. Everybody was happy in his kingdom. There was no discrimination on the basis of caste or class. Rich and poor were equally treated and. There was no crime in the State that people did not even lock their doors.

Mahabali belonged to the Asura dynasty but was an ardent worshiper of Lord Vishnu. His bravery earned him the title of "Mahabali Chakravathy" or Mahabali- the King of Kings. Looking at the growing popularity and fame of King Mahabali all the Gods became extremely concerned and jealous. They felt threatened about their own supremacy and began to think of a strategy to get rid of him.

To curb the growing reign of Mahabali and maintain their own supremacy, Aditi, the mother of all Gods, sought help of Lord Vishnu (the preserver in Hindu trinity), whom Mahabali worshiped. It was said that Mahabali was very generous and charitable. Whenever anybody approached him for help, he did.

To test the King, Lord Vishnu disguised himself as a dwarf and a poor Brahmin called Vamana. He came to the Kingdom of Mahabali, just after Mahabali performed his morning prayers and was preparing to grant boons to Brahmin disguised as Vamana. Vishnu said he was a poor Brahmin and asked for a piece of land. The generous King said, he could have as much land as he wanted. The Brahmin said that he just wanted as much land as could be covered by his three steps. The King was surprised to hear but agreed.

A learned adviser of the King, Shukracharya sensed that Vamana was not an ordinary person and warned the King against making any promise. But, the generous King replied that it would be a sin for a King to back on his words and asked the Brahmin to take the land. The King could not imagine that the dwarf Brahmin was Lord Vishnu himself.

Just as King Mahabali agreed to grant the land, Vamana began to expand and eventually increased himself to the size of cosmic proportions. With his first step the Brahmin boy covered the whole earth and with the other step he covered the whole of skies. He, then asked King Mahabali where is the space for him to keep his third foot.

The King realised that he was no ordinary Brahmin and his third step will destroy the earth. Mahabali with folded hands bowed before Vamana and asked him to place his last step on his head so that he could keep the promise. The Brahmin placed his foot on the head of the King, which pushed him to patala, the nether world.

There the King requested the Brahmin to reveal his true identity. Lord Vishnu then appeared before the King in his person and told him that he came to test him and the King has passed the test. King Mahabali was pleased to see his lord. Lord Vishnu also granted a boon to the King. The King was so much attached with his Kingdom and people that he requested that he be allowed to visit Kerala once in a year. Lord Vishnu was moved by King's nobility and was pleased to grant the wish. He also blessed the King and said even after losing all his worldly possessions, the King would always be loved by Lord Vishnu and his people.

It is the day of the visit of King Mahabali to Kerala that is celebrated as Onam every year. The festival is celebrated as a tribute to the sacrifice of King Mahabali. Every year people make elaborate preparations to welcome their King whom they affectionately call Onathappan. They wish to please the spirit of their King by depicting that his people are happy and wish him well. The second day, Thiruvonam is the biggest and the most important day of this festival. It is believed that King Mahabali visits his people on the second day.

Onam celebrations are marked in Trikkakara, 10 km from Kochi on Edapally- Pookattupadi road. Trikkara is said to be the capital of the King Mahabali. A temple with a deity of 'Trikkakara Appan' or 'Vamanamurthy' who is Lord Vishnu himself in disguise is also located there. Nowhere else in Kerala can one find a deity of 'Vamanamurthy'. This fascinating legend is artistically depicted at Suchindram Temple in Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.
K.Venugopal 8/27/2007 4:47:58 AM
The moral of the story is that what truly marks a great man is not all his kingly material accomplishments but a spiritual humbleness. This humility was not reflected when Mahabali taunted Vamana to ask for something more than land measuring 3 mere steps of a midget! Vamana was an avataar and an avataar's punishment is shaapa moksham. Truly humbled before Vamana's third step, Mahabali became liberated and was granted the boon of visiting his subjects and their progeny once a year forever. We in turn celebrate the arrival of the King of yore who was a perfect ruler and became a perfect being.

The daughter’s last kiss

The daughter’s last kiss8/17/2007 5:45:10 AM HK
The daughter’s last kiss : The daughter of the slain BJP leader Pramod kissing his body as it was brought to his house at Muryad on Thursday.

Kannur: Thousands of people from all walks of life bid final farewell to slain BJP leader Pramod here on Thursday.

Pramod an active leader of BJP and BMS in the area was in forefront for all social issues in the area.

The body was taken to his native village, Ayodhya Nagar in Kuthuparamba by BJP and RSS activists. Senior leaders of the BJP and RSS were presented.

Hartal called by Hindu organizations in Kannur today was total.

He was survived by his wife Bindu and daughter Nandana.

Pramod was killed by intolerant fascist communist thugs in Koothuparamba yesterday. Another BJP activist Prakash was severely injured in the attack.

A gang of blood sucking communist goons attacked Pramod and Prakash in the early morning around 6.30 am. Pramod was immediately taken to near by hospital, but succumbed to severe head injuries and blood loss. Prakash is admitted in Kozhikode Medical College with stabbings all over his body.

Sources told HK correspondence that the killing of BJP leader was just to divert the attention of present internal fighting within CPM. Realizing the communist treachery and groupism in the party many communist activists are recently attracted towards Hindu nationalist organizations in Kannur district.

BJP state president P K Krishnadas said that the CPM leadership was trying to take back Kannur to the old days of violence and murder by killing and maiming the BJP and RSS workers with the intention of diverting public attention from internal squabbles in their party.Addressing a press conference, Krishnadas said that the killing of BJP worker Pramod at Muryad in Koothuparamba on Thursday morning was a planned murder. This is the second murder committed by the CPM in five months, he said.Krishnadas said that nearly half a dozen workers of his party had lost their legs or hands in the attacks organised by CPM workers in the last few months. Making the BJP-RSS workers immobile by brutally amputating them is the new method of violence being implemented by the CPM, he said. The BJP state president said that his partymen had exercised maximum restraint despite series of attacks on them by the CPM. ‘‘This shouldn’t be seen as sign of weakness,’’ he warned the CPM.

How heart rending. Ushnam Ushname Shanti. This cycle of violence unleashed by the communists will end only when we unleash the violence to end all violence. This would be the violence born of Hindu Shakti. The power of Ma Durga. May the kiss of baby Nandana have signaled the death knell to the Mahishasuras of today.

Make temples vibrant to end social evils - Govindacharya

TIRUPATI: Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) National Steering Committee member K N Govindacharya emphasised reorientation of temples to make them vibrant institutions taking care of social issues apart from functioning as spiritual centres. In his keynote address at the National Swadeshi Workshop here today, he said reorientation of temples would help harness their strength fully.Unlike other tenets, Hindu philosophy never viewed spiritualism confined to four walls of the temples. Because of this outlook, this ancient tradition survived while others perished unable to withstand the alien onslaught.‘‘The speciality of Hinduism was motherhood which played a key role in preserving the tradition and culture at family level which was the core of society,’’ he said. However, due to distortions and confusions in the last two centuries, an uncertainty about our past crept in threatening to delink us from our roots, he said. The only way out was developing mandirs (temples) into active Samsthas (institutions) to keep our moorings intact to prevent it from floating directionless and becoming easy prey to aliens, he explained.TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakar Reddy said the alien cultural invasion in the past six decades was more than that of during the British rule. This was evident with more number of people getting attracted towards other beliefs due to a feeling of insecurity or for other reasons.Reddy said TTD being the leading Hindu religious institution took the lead in initiating social service activities in a big way like Dalitha Govindam and Kalyanamasthu.Dalitha Govindam is aimed at giving a jolt to those still in the arrogant belief that they are ‘superior’ to others.‘‘By taking the idols of Lord Venkateswara to the Dalit colonies, besides making temple priests stay there, we want to teach a lesson to those coming in the way of equality in society,’’ he said.Further, this kind of programmes would open the eyes of the conservative people and make them repent for the injustice done to the oppressed classes all these years, he said. The three-day workshop is being organised jointly by the SJM and Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Academy (SVETA). TTD Executive Officer K V Ramanachari, SVETA Director BS Reddy, SJM leader Kumaraswamy and others were present.

According to me, temples must be centres of meditation. With a restful mind attained by meditation, individuals would be able to contribute towards a harmonious society. All social evils (disharmony) arise from restless minds.

Ramar Sethu : VHP to organise nationwide token fast on 12th August

Ramar Sethu : VHP to organise nationwide token fast on 12th August8/6/2007 2:57:45 AM Agencies
Chennai : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will organise a nationwide token fast on August 12 to protest against demolition of Ramar Sethu (Adam's bridge) in the Palk Strait under the Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project (SSCP).
Addressing a press conference here today, VHP International Working President S Vedantham said about 20 per cent of Ramar Sethu had been demolished, despite the Madras High Court's recent observation that the Centre could preserve it as a national heritage monument.
"This showed that they have scant regard for the High Court's observation. It has set a wrong precedence and is highly condemnable. We suspect that there is an ulterior motive in implementing the project hastily," he said.
Vedantham said the Udupi Pejawar Mutt head would lead the hunger protest on the sands of Marina here.
Vedantham said the VHP would also organise a 'Rameswaram Chalo' agitation, under which lakhs of Ram devotees and mutt heads would converge on Rameswaram on August 26 and take a pledge to make any sacrifice to protect Ramar Sethu.
Refuting the SSCP Chairman's recent claim that US space agency NASA had concluded that Ramar Sethu was not man made, he said NASA had clarified, in response to an e-mail by the outfit, that their information was based solely on astronaut photography dataset, which did not provide information on the age, subsurface structure or composition of islands in the Palk Straits.
He said NASA had clarified that "to interpret our response as if it is a scientifically rigorous conclusion as to the nature of Palk Strait islands is both misinterpretation and misreporting and thus inappropriate."
K.Venugopal 8/7/2007 9:22:58 AM
20% of Ramar Sethu has been destroyed and we are thinking of a fast. By the time we finish our fast and gather in lakhs as a symbolic protest, 30% would have been destroyed. Then we wait for more meetings, more resolutions, more warnings and suddenly there would be no more Ramar Sethu. He Ram!

Despite Court Order, 19.46% of Ram Sethu destroyed 8/3/2007 4:02:47 PM Dr. S.Kalyanaraman
Madras HC order of 19 June, 2007:

"We are not inclined to grant interim relief at this stage, as it would hamper further work in the project. However, we leave it to the Union of India to decide whether the actual cutting of Adams Bridge/Rama Sethu could be postponed till the issues involved in these petitions are considered by this Court."

SC asked GOI to respond to Madras HC orders of 19 June 2007.

Continued dredging in Adam's bridge segment is GOI's response to Court's orders

Dredging continues unabated and as per the destruction status in their website it shows 19.46% dredged till August 2nd

why blame the government? what happenned to the agitation against the sethu. r the protestors believing trhat they can stop it by writing articles in paper and on the net. when will their meetings end and when will they launch a public movment? Its been almost 3 months since the first voice of dissent was heard and still it is not gettign louder. They seem to be only charting the course of protests. VERY SAD.

Remembering the sacrifices of Ramasimhan and family8/1/2007 11:53:18 AM HK Correspondent
Today (02-08-2007 ) is the 60th death anniversary of Shri Ramasimhan and his family who gave up their lives for Kerala’s Hindu society
HINDUS of the old generation in Malabar still remember the day when Ramasimhan along with his brother Dayasimhan, his wife Kamala Antharjanam (who was pregnant) and servant Raju Ayyer were brutally murdered by the forefathers of present Islamic terrorists of Kerala.

Hindus of Velluvanad and Eranad (today’s Malappuram and Palakkad districts) did not dare to open their house doors and shops for the next three days. Only a few RSS swayamsevaks of Palakkad district were bold enough to conduct a protest march.

Ramasimhan and his family were brutally murdered at 2am on 2nd August 1947. No one came forward to take over their dead bodies and conduct the last rituals. The bodies were loaded on to a handcart used for transporting goods and brought to Kulirmala near Perinthalmanna where they were buried like dogs and cats by some unknown people.

Who was Ramasimhan?

Ramasimhan was a Muslim who converted to Hinduism. He was attracted towards Hinduism and changed his name from Unnian Sahib to Ramasimhan. He sent his both children to Arya Samaj School in Delhi. He tried to organize Hindus of the area and took the initiative to revive the Maalaparambu temple whose presiding deity was Narasimha Moorthy. But Islamic terrorists destroyed the temple two weeks after murdering Ramasimhan and his family.
Narasimha Moorthy temple
The Hindus could not protect the Narasimha Moorthy temple at that time. But after a long legal battle, the destroyed temple was handed over to Hindus in 1999. A temple charitable trust formed by P.Kuttikrishnan Nair and C.P.Janardhanan led the legal fight. All efforts are underway to construct a temple on the same site in remembrance of Ramasimhan.
Ramasimhan sacrificed his life for the Kerala’s Hindu society but unfortunately most Hindus of Kerala have not learnt any lesson from Islam’s brutal history. Even today, ‘secular’ historians are portraying the mass massacre of Hindus by fanatic Muslims during the Khilafat Movement (launched by none other than the so-called father of the nation) as Independence struggle and Islamic invaders as our saviours!

We appeal to all Hindu brothers and sister to pray silently for one minute today for the peace of the souls of Ramasimhan and his family who sacrificed their lives for our Dharma.

I understand that the Late Hon'ble Ramasimhan not only built the Narsimha Moorthy temple, he built it on his own land of over 600 acres (yes, 600 acres). The Muslims, after killing him and his family, destroyed the temple and took over the 600 acres land and subsequently, to retain the land in the name of altruism, built educational institutions thereon. I also understand that this 600 acres land is still under litigation and the Hindus may yet get to retake it.
