Reservation to Govt. services & education for Muslims and Christians : DMK

Reservation to Govt. services & education for Muslims and Christians : DMK9/13/2007 12:03:45 PM HK
CHENNAI: The DMK government in Tamil Nadu on Thursday promulgated an ordinance providing for exclusive reservation for Muslims and Christians in government services and in educational institutions.
The reservation would come into effect from September 15, the 99th birth anniversary of DMK founder CN Annadurai, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said in a statement.
He said the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes Commission, headed by Justice Janardanam, which was asked to go into the issue, had recommended that the quantum of reservation could be fixed according to the census arrived at by the Second Backward Classes Welfare Commission. The government had decided to reserve 3.5 per cent reservation each for Muslims and Christians, which would be carved out from the 30 per cent reservation for backward classes in the state, he said.
"The DMK government has always had a soft corner for minorities. Our party promised an exclusive reservation for them. As a gift for minorities on the occassion of the 99th birth anniversary of late CN Annadurai, exclusive reservation is introduced for minorities from September 15."

Originally reservations had been only on the basis of caste and since caste was a phenomenon unique to the Hindu's, all the beneficiaries were Hindus. In due course, 'socio-economic criteria' was also included and in the case of non-Hindus the criteria was applicable to certain sections within the larger non-Hindu community. Now the attempt is to include all the non-Hindus (read Muslims and Christians) within the ambit of reservations while a huge chunk of the Hindus remain outside the ambit. We've moved from caste to socio-economic and have now come to religious reservation. We are on dangerous grounds.

Pressure from CPI(M) & Christian land mafia group : Raju Narayanaswami decides to quit

Pressure from CPI(M) & Christian land mafia group : Raju Narayanaswami decides to quit9/8/2007 5:14:33 AM HK
KOCHI : Raju Narayanaswami, an honest civil servant & Idukki district collection who was topper in 1991 IAS has decided to quite from the present post due to severe pressure from the CPI(M) & Christian land mafia group in Kerala. Narayanaswamy, who took his B Tech degree in Computer Science from IIT Chennai in 1989, is expecting an assignment in the IT sector

The immediate reason for his disillusionment could be the findings he made about the involvement of Kerala Congress (J) leader TU Kuruvila in shady deals on Munnar Government lands. Kuruvila was forced to resign as Kerala's Public Works Minister on Monday for allegedly misusing his position for negotiating a land deal for his children with a Kuwait-based businessman. It was Narayanaswami, as Idukki District Collector, who had given the details of the Idukki land in the illegal deal to Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan in a report. He is also irked by the Government move to validate all the 532 illegal title deeds on lands issued by an official who was not competent for the job.

A reporter quoted him as saying, "Efforts are being made by the Government to ratify all the nearly 532 illegal pattas (title deeds), issued by former deputy thahsildar MI Raveendran, which includes the pattas of the CPI and CPI(M) offices in Idukki."

Idukki district has become a land grabbers den, he says. "I came to Idukki with the ambition that all land grabbers will be thrown out. But the death knell of the mission has been rung by the party in power. I do not want to be a mute spectator. I may go on leave in a day or two," he said.

He said Kuruvilla's name was not mentioned in the report, but what was clearly mentioned was that the Minister's son had allegedly threatened the village officer of Rajakumari village in Idukki for "manipulating" records. "There was blatant violation of rules, the property had been undervalued," Narayanaswamy said. Government land had been shown to have been purchased. Kuruvilla had rung him up 19 times from different mobiles on a single day ordering him not to take steps against his relatives.

Kuruvila's party chairman PJ Joseph's relatives had occupied about 50 acres of land near the Greenberg Estate in the district while they had title deeds for only 15 acres. "The land is in the name of Joseph's wife's sister and Kuruvila's son," he said.

Pointing that the initial days of Mission Munnar was a success, he said that later politicians of all hues, "who had their narrow objective to torpedo the mission, succeeded."

Dear Shri Raju Narayanaswami,
Do not quit. Do everything possible to uphold the law. The press, courts and public are bound to be with you. Fight in the name of our sacred Motherland. Victory is assured.

Divine power forced G. Sudhakaran to enter Guruvayur temple

Divine power forced G. Sudhakaran to enter Guruvayur temple9/7/2007 3:33:33 AM HK
KOZIKODE : The divine power of Guruvayoorappan forced CPI(M) leader and Devosom Minister G. Sudhakaran to enter the Guruvayur temple first time, said Bharateeya Jyothishastra Parishad state president Mohandas Panicker. G. Sudhakaran is a strong devotee of Guruvayoorappan but he cannot express this openly due to political reasons.

Mohandas predicted V.S. Achuthanandan would step down from Chief Ministerial post in 2008. He is also predicted midterm Parliament election any time during 2008.
K.Venugopal 9/7/2007 9:06:27 AM
As if Guruvayoorappan is hard up for the idiotic Minister to enter the temple! It is more likely that Sudharakaran has realised what an ass he has been and is now trying to make amends.

RSS to begin mass preparation to bring BJP to power

RSS to begin mass preparation to bring BJP to power9/4/2007 9:03:54 AM HK
NEW DELHI : Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is getting ready with mass preparations to bring the BJP to power in the event of a snap poll.

Top leaders of the Sangh are scheduled to start a week-long meeting at Sangh headquarter Nagpur from today to discuss ways and means to come to the aid of the BJP that lost power in 2004 general elections.

On the top of the Sangh agenda is to bring back some of the leaders who had left the BJP over the past few years. They include former general-secretary K.N. Govindacharya and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti.

BJP president Rajnath Singh is busy in poll preparation from the ground level in view of reports that the Congress party-Left Front stand-off over the Indo-US nuclear deal might lead to early polls.

Sangh believe it is the top priority of the nation to have a nationalist government. Moreover, the continues vote bank politics in the country may lead the nation to a weak position. The education curriculum must be revamped as the present curriculum is not the true one and it may only help the young generations to learn untrue history about Bharat & its culture
K.Venugopal 9/6/2007 9:09:31 AM
The best course would be for the RSS to declare itself as a participant in the electoral politics of the country and co-opt the BJP or those members of it who want to directly associate with the RSS and field candidates in the name of RSS, without bothering about tie-ups with other parties. The entire Sangha parivar would participate in the process most systematically and with total commitment, with a do or die determination. All over the country daily shakas must be strengthened and it should be from the power of the shakas that the entire political movement must be run. Mohanji Bhagwat must be declared as our Prime Ministerial candidate. There should be no doubt at all about our capacity to sweep the elections with our own strength. The whole country is waiting for a truly nationalistic force to take over the country and everyone knows RSS is the answer.

Hussain will not be allowed to land in Kerala at any cost : VHP

Hussain will not be allowed to land in Kerala at any cost : VHP 9/6/2007 2:46:38 AM HK
KOZHIKODE: The state unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad today said it will not allow the state government to confer the prestigious Ravi Varma Award on renowned painter M F Hussain as it will be national shame to honour a person who has depicted Hindu Gods in the nude.
"VHP and other Hindu organisations like the Bajrang Dal will prevent Hussain from landing anywhere in the state to receive the award in Thiruvananthapuram on September 17," VHP state joint secretary, P Vasudevan and district president C H Kunhukrishna Kurup told a press conference here.
As a first step, the VHP would observe September 4 to 10 as 'protest week' across the state holding rallies and meetings. On September 13, Parishad volunteers will burn the painter's effigy and on September 17 extend support to the Bajrang Dal which had called for a statewide protest, they said.
Accusing Hussain of committing blasphemy by insulting the religion through his obscene paintings of Hindu Gods, they said, "nowhere in India, will he dare to arrive to receive an award." The LDF Government should therefore cancel the programme respecting the sentiments of large sections of people in the state and avoid communal disturbance, they added.
K.Venugopal 9/6/2007 9:26:25 AM
I feel in the name of freedom we should allow expressions of any sort, short of actual physical violence. There is a cartoon available on the internet which depicts Prophet Mohammad dragging a child with a doll towards the marital bed. This is a true depiction of an actual event in history, unlike M.F.Hussain's depiction of a nude Sita on Hanuman's tail, which never occurred. We should allow the award-giving function for M.F. Hussain to go on and we should organise our own award-giving function outside the venue for the unknown cartoonist of Prophet Mohammad's adventure. Our stand should be, either both functions should be cancelled or both allowed to go on in the name of freedom of expression.

I wonder why Haindava Keralam is exited about Amrita TV's programmes listed above, which have nothing to do with Hindutva? What has the selection of the best or worst actor to do with what we stand for? Please do not feed trash.
