Swami Sandeep Chaitanya gave clean Chit to controversial Text Book!

07/07/2008 13:57:35 HK
Thiruvananthapuram: Swami Sandeep Chaitanya is one of the respected spiritual leaders who won the heart of millions through his exemplary Gita parayan skills.

It is disheartening when some one close to our heart especially spiritual gurus, taking diametrically opposite stands against Hindu society.

Swami Sandeep Chaitanya’s press release on Text book controversy is prominently carried by all Visual and Print media.( This is the same media which completely blacked out Swamiji’s statement on transferring administration of Temples to Hindus in Hindu Matha Convention)

As per reports Swami Sandeep Chaitanya gave clean chit to the VII standard text book and commented that the Text book shouldn’t be withdrawn. Few days earlier we saw swamiji in a DYFI function against fake spiritual leaders. (Of course all Hindu organisations are against fakes and fraudsters, but for a Hindu who is well aware of recent happenings sharing dias with DYFI goons is a bit difficult to digest )

Now coming back to Text book, HK don’t know whether swamiji went through the whole controversial book or not. We wonder whether swamiji’s clean chit to the book is after reading page 34 which mentions about ‘Freedom Struggle in Malabar’.

As per the Text Book version

The 1921 Mappila Riots were against British , The Text book highlights that Khilafath leaders Ali Musaliyar and Kunhahammed Haji gave strict warnings that not to attack any Hindus.British forces used brutal force against that freedom struggle and give a appalling picture of wagon tragedy to show how cruel British were against those patriotic Muslims

Hope swamiji is aware about the true History in which terming Khilafath as freedom struggle is the greatest injustice to History. As each student of History know khilafath movement was not for India’s freedom but the support of Muslim brotherhood of Malabar to Caliphate of Turkey.

HK request Swamiji to go through this compilation from Historical facts about the fate of poor Hindus who fell prey to Jihadi Marauders of Malabar. One thing is for sure the sufferings of Criminals inside that ‘wagon’ is only minimal when considering the pain of thousands who were slaughtered and dumped in wells of Malabar.

http://www.haindavakeralam.com/HKPage.aspx?PageID=6691&SKIN=C

Those who take stand supporting and against the Text book may have their own Political or Religious motive. An average Hindu is not much worried about instilling secularism in text book and won’t see red in such ideals. But this falsified history to glorify the fanatics is like spitting on a Hindu psyche.

HK request all Hindu organisations and Spiritual leaders to stay together and fight against this distorted history.

Swami is rightSwami Sandeep Chaitanya is absolutely right. I have gone through all the 38 pages of Std. VII text book (it is available in www.keralakaumudi.com). The only thing that irked me is one or two sentences about mappila lahala (hindu killing by muslims)- there is no details. Otherwise everything is OK. It is only a UDF, headed by Congress & Kerala Congress (both belonging to Christians) and their ally Muslim League, propaganda to bring this LDF govt down from power. I strongly feel that UDF is more devious than LDF because they at least openly say they are atheists and anti-religion whereas UDF will distroy hindus by its roots slowly. Do you think Karunakaran who goes to Guruvayoor temple 1st of every Malayalam month, care for hindus? same about Chennithala! I wonder why there is no one to smash his chennithala to pottathala! If anybody lose by learning this text book, it is Christians and Muslims, certainly not hindus.

Sad day for Hindu leaders !This the unfortunate truth. Though the Muslim & Christian religious priests give advice to their flock every Friday & Sunday not only in spiritual matters but also about politics, economics, procreation to add numbers, as to how & to whom to vote for in elections etc because they have a clear & broad agenda & goal to be achieved. Contrast that with poor Hindu Swamijis & priests. They never even discuss matters pertaining to only spirituality & they lack a national vision for Hindu dharma in Hindustan. They should also start advising why we should support RSS/VHP/Shiv Sena/BJP etc since they are the guardians of Hindu dharma in Bharat in spite of opposition from many Hindus. I remenber one Sankaracharya( from Puri) who was bad mouthing Mr. Modi last year before Gujarat elections which is unheard of among Christians & Muslims. We have a lot to learn from them.

Hindu 08/07/2008 11:28:07
Give us opportunity to study religion!According to the controversial text book, one should select his/ her religion after maturity, if required. One can select the religion, only if he get an opportunity to study it. Hindus do not get an opportunity to study their religion where as they get ample opportunity to study other religions.Either at the convent school or any through any other medium. Most of the communists are Hindus. Most of the atheists are Hindus. The so called "Laxmi Devi" who share the bed with Anwar have no self respect. She is a prostitute ready to sell her flesh for petro dollars. Damn with that bloody Jeevan (Nirjeevan) . Let him go to hell!

Hindu 08/07/2008 10:57:31
Why Laxmi Devi- Anwar ? Why not Antony-Ameena?Misravivaham is all about marriages between Hindu- Muslim or Hindu- Christain! Muslim-Christain Misravivham is unheard in Kerala though their population nearly 50 percent of the total population!. Nealy 90 percent of Misravivham cases , end up with Hindu partner embracing semetic religion! The childrens are brought up as either Muslims or christains as the case may be. There is no case of conversion to Hinduism or childrens brought up as Hindus? It is crystal clear that Hindus need not a lesson in this case.My question is Why this example of Laxmi Devi and Anwar Rashid? Why not Antony and Ameena? The Kerala communists know all this ground realities. But when they feel itching at anus , they used to scratch head!

Swami Sandeep ChaitanyaBefore coming to any conclusion,I suggest HK should arrange for an interview with Swami Sandeep Chaitanya at the earliest, and post it on HK.

Think twice before you criticiseI think we must take a little more sober stand while reacting to swamiji's comment. There is every possibility that his statement had been taken out of context and might have even been distorted by these pseudo secular beggers sitting at the helm of affairs at the print & visual media. Swami Sandeep chaitanya's discourses have been doing great service in reviving the Hindu spirituality in our young generation( OLder as well). It is true that he was a communist in his poorvasram, and I think by his karma he is basically tuned towards adwaitha( Ofcourse a real samnyasi do believe in it). In many of his talks he is ridiculing the temple worship, which a learned person can understand but will confuse a beginner as to temple worship is wrong. You should never discard the ladder after climbing on to the terrace ,as others who are downstairs may need it to climb up. So temple and idol worship is the ladder through which we ascend up to reach the greater planes of vishishtadwaitha and adwaitha. Swamiji seem to forget this fact while giving his lectures.Even then he is definitely one of the guiding forces behind this belated hindu activism in kerala and for that we all are indebted to him. So I request responsible hindu leaders to contact him and get his clarification before making some aggressive comment against him. May be that swamiji was being little soft in criticism to woo communists who are very allergic to criticism.Let us pray for better sense to prevail upon everybody at this difficult time.

menon 08/07/2008 09:18:13
sandeep ChaitanyaThis swami even though highly respected among many Hindus, was a strong communist activist before becoming a swami himself. He is popularly known as a rebel himself. He had issues with Chinmaya Mission and left it few years ago.May be his old thought process and leanings might be playing the game here.

KSV SUBRAMANIAN 08/07/2008 08:23:06
I am really painedI am really pained by what Swami Sandeep Chaitanya has said about the Social studies text book. I regard the venerated swami in great esteem and reverence. We regularly watch his discourse on Bhagavad Gita on Doordarsan and are greatly inflenced. Really I am not able to believe he will make such a statement.I can understand the Indian Secular Morons fabricating Indian history and falsifying the savagery and atrocities of moplahs on hindus in 1921. There are records to show the brutalities perpetrated on the hindus. But the secular terrorists are at it again. It has come to such a pass that any atrocities committed against hindus will be termed as something else viz. freedom fighters , peasant unrest, or expression of some such stupidity. If this trend continues all the terrorists will now be termed as freedom fighters and pension and other benefits will be offered to them. Perhaps they may start it with Afzal guru. For a few votes and power these secular terrorists can go to any length. HK, please take up with the Swamiji. Fabrication and manufacture of history should not go unprotested. This is an insult to the injury.

An alternative text book - sarcastic. An alternative text book - (Badal paaThapusthakam) suggested by Nakulan in his recent post. Satire at its best! As always, this post too throws some unanswerable questions to the leftists. http://koosism-exposed.blogspot.com/2008/07/blog-post.html

Text BookMost of kerala people want to cancell the book. why the minister not stop. why he want to make new story ?. Goverment lose lot of money this all money from hindus temples. this minister always making trable for education. he don't no any thinks.

Leela 08/07/2008 03:59:53
False swamisWhat can you expect of these false toadying godmen of today who will do anything to make money. A recent issue of the anti-Hindu paper carried a picture of Bangaru Adikalar, his wife and son paying their respects to Hindu hating karunanithi. it was disgusting.

Suryanarayan 08/07/2008 00:49:31
Clarify his stand As Shri.Venugopal has written many hindus will not have much problem in the lesson 'Mathamillatha Jeevan'though many believe that the name 'Lekshmi Devi' was deliberately used.Hindu organisations can ask the Swamy to air his views on Mappila Lahala publically so that the confusion can be cleared.

Kalidas,Mumbai 08/07/2008 00:59:01
HK should directly seek his viewsIt is very hard to believe that disciple of Swami Chinmayananda,a Hindu monk who was /is/will be proud to work for Hindutva cause, taking diametrically opposite stand in this issue. But at the same time we should beware of the strong allurement tactics of ADHARMIC forces , who can buy any man having bestial qualities. But I assume that Ma.Sandeepji is a good sadhak who has divine qualities.HK should directly approach him and seek his views in this matter and if we find him not respecting the sentiments of hapless victims of Moplah riots , then we should strictly warn him.

Praveen 07/07/2008 23:07:47
Look before you leap. Before blaming him, some responsible hindu organisation must talk to Sandeep Chaithanya and understand the reasons for his volte-face.If it is a strategic move to further the hindutwa cause it is OK.If not expose his opportunism.

jayakumar 07/07/2008 23:07:06
dont think like that..pls dont think like that ,he is a very good spiritual guru and he always stand for general issues of hindus.what i understood is ,he told that the book is not against any religion. It is sure that the book is against the historic truth like 'mappila lahala'.but he didnt mention about that.So pls clarify with him first, bcoz the hindus need his service.

K.Venugopal 07/07/2008 22:31:07
Confusion

I think there is confusion about who is attacking what and defending what in the controversial text-book. I have not read Swamiji's press release but I understand that the portion which first became controversial was the part about parents admitting their child to school and the subject of religion coming up. The Christians and Muslims might object to there being a possibility of anyone not adhering to any religion - either theirs or the devils! But the Hindus have always accepted the possibility of there being people who do not follow any particular religion but are yet upright people. The Hindu stress is on Dharma or harmony and not on any specific religion. Therefore the conversation in the Head-master's room should not be a blasphemous one for Hindus. However, the Hindu concerns about the way the Mopala riots are presented in the book is natural. Maybe the Swamiji did not deliberate on this because the basic controversy was on the other subject. HK should contact Swamiji and take up the matter with him.

Swami Chaitanya has been purchasedRead below http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moplah_RebellionThe Moplah Riots (also known as the "Moplah Rebellion", "Maappila Lahala" in Malayalam) was a British-Muslim and Hindu-Muslim conflict in Kerala that occurred in 1921. During the early months of 1921, multiple events including the Khilafat movement and the Karachi resolution fueled the fires of rebellion amongst the Moplah Muslim community. A rumour spread amongst the Moplahs that the British rule had ended and the Islamic Caliphate had been re-established at Delhi.According to one view, the reasons for the Moplah rebellion was religious revivalism among the Muslim Moplahs, and hostility towards the landlord Hindu Nair Jenmi community and the British administration that inevitably supported the latter.Annie Besant stated: "They Moplahs murdered and plundered abundantly, and killed or drove away all Hindus who would not apostatise. Somewhere about a lakh (100,000) of people were driven from their homes with nothing but their clothes they had on, stripped of everything...Malabar has taught us what Islamic rule still means, and we do not want to see another specimen of the Khilafat Raj in India."[2]Between 2500 and 3500 hindus were killed during the Moplah riots, and an estimated 30,000 were forcibly converted to Islam. The conversion ceremonies included the customary eating of beef. Gandhi said that "our muslim brothers have gone mad in Malabar" while Babasaheb Ambedkar lamented the "inhuman savagery" of the anti-hindu pogrom. Between 100,000 and quarter of a million hindus were forced to leave their homes.

I am Ashamed of this "Swami" 07/07/2008 14:24:59
He's an anti-hindu "Swami"!Sorry, but shame upon this anti-Hindu "Swami"!!!!! He should be stripped of his "Swami" title...With "Swamis" like him, the Hindus don't stand a chance! Sorry!

Thiruvananthapuram: Three thousand delegates from all over the country and abroad wll participate in a pre- Parliament meet here on August 3, as a prelude to the Parliament of the World’s Religions to be held at Melbourne, Australia, from December 3 to 9.

Director of the School of Bhagawad Gita Swamy Sandeep Chaitanya and Parliament linkperson Ambili Ramnath told a press meet here on Monday that the event would include discussions on four topics, namely religion, Gandhiji, politics and aesthetics. They said the objective of the pre-Parliament meet was to enable social progress by integrating the universal power with aesthetics and technology.

US-based academic Rodney Moag will be among the speakers. The visually-impaired professor who also teaches Malayalam will be honoured with the ‘Beacon of Inspiration’ award.

Swamy Chaitanya said the School of Bhagwad Gita would organise an essay contest for school and college students as part of the Melbourne meet, the theme of which would be ‘Make a world of difference: Hearing each other, Healing the Earth.’ The winners will travel to Melbourne to participate in the meet

Asked about the controversy over the textbook for Class VII in Kerala, the Swamy said he had found nothing objectionable in the book. He said the burning of textbooks by a section of people was unjustifiable.

PATHANAMTHITTA: Swami Sandeep Chaitanya, director of School of Bhagavad Gita, Thiruvananthapuram, said here on Sunday that the Government should bring all places of worship under its control or let devotees run them. It was natural if people took Government control over temples alone as a partisan policy, he added.

The swami was inaugurating the 95th Ayroor-Cherukolpuzha Hindu religious meet, organised by the Hindumatha Maha Mandalam, on the Pampa riverbed at Cherukolpuzha, near Kozhencherry, on Sunday.

He said it was strange that the Devaswom ordinance had left enough provision for the Government to take over temples, ashrams, maths and other religious establishments. Temples owned by Keralites in places such as Delhi and Mumbai were being run in an exemplary manner by the devotees.

The swami said people who elected their representatives to the Legislative Assembly should take extra care to ensure that the Ministerial candidates fielded by political parties were well qualified to handle different portfolios.

He said, "Undergoing political imprisonment or leading strikes and political agitations should not be the criterion for a politician to become Minister." "Instead, the Ministers of this modern age should be adequately qualified to handle different portfolios.''

He said development of society was temple-centred in olden times. Temples wielded a positive influence on socio-cultural aspects. The revenue collected at the temple was supposed to be utilised for providing better basic facilities for devotees and ensuring their well being.

He alleged that things appeared to have taken a bad twist ever since incompetent people began to meddle with temple affairs in the post-Independence period.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad State organising secretary Kummanam Rajashekharan presided over the inaugural function.

Hindumatha Maha Mandalam president T.N. Upendranatha Kurup; P.D. Radhakrishnan Namboodiri, chief priest at Chakkulathukavu Bhagavathy Temple; Thiruvanchor Radhakrishnan and K.C. Rajagopalan, MLAs; and FOKANA president K.G. Sasidharan Nair spoke.

C. Ramachandran, applied psychologist, delivered the keynote address at the evening session.

"Like sunrise and sunset, the Gita should become a manual for day to day life of the common man every where in the world.”, Sandeep Chaitanya has said after he quit the mission. But there are people who want to see this culture in the ritualistic plane only. Yes, rituals do play a role in the case of a beginner. But should people be kept under the menacles of priesthood always? His speeches were peppered with Mulla Nazaruddin Jokes, and quotes from the Bible, The Quran, and a lot of other sacred texts. His style must have irked the hindu fundamentalist organizations!

A sanyasi tries to become independent. It is for independence from ones karmas and vasanas and finally rebirths that all the sadhanas are performed. And religions are only means to that end, not an end in itself. That is the point Swami Sandeep Chaitanya stressed throughout the Yagna.

Spreading the Geeta is spreading humanity. This sacred text transcends all the barriers of caste, creed, sects, sex, religion, and nationality. And Sandeep Chaitanya will succeed in his mission of spreading the Geeta as a manual for daily life worldwide.I LIKE HIM AND I LOVE HIM

Happened to be present when the so called ‘statement’ on the text book Sandeep Chaitanya was issued. If it helps, here is an eyewitness account.
The press meet at the press club in Trivandrum was to brief the press about the parliament of world’s religions’ pre parliament conference that Sandeep Chaitanya’s institution is organizing. At the end of the meeting a reporter asked a casual question on Swami’s opinion of the’text book’. Swami’s opening sentence was “I have not gone through the whole book., but only the particular portion.” He explained that if religion is matter of personal choice there is nothing objectionable. Sandeep Chaitanya then said as follows : “ I always quote th example where religion is likened to salt in a dish- Its presence should not be felt. The taste of the dish is spoilt if there is too much salt or too little of it….Ours is a culture that respects books as Goddess Saraswathi. What is objectionable is the burning of books which is equal to disrespect and all the violent reactions.”
Not sure if the tag words for all the hullabaloo is “irresponsibility” and “immaturity” on the part of the press that will do anything to create sensationalism or the so called followers of Hinduism who react most unbecomingly at the least provocation!
