The first ever talent hunt on Malayalam television to select the best actor would go on air from Monday on Amrita TV, a release from the television company said
The programme to be telecast on Monday to Friday at 9.30 pm would be the culmination of an extensive screen test of nearly 5,000 aspirants conducted at Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Kerala.
Out of these aspirants, finally 20 participants in the 18-35 age group were shortlisted to undergo a three-day acting workshop at Thiruvananthpuram, moderated by noted theatre and film personalities. These contestants who would compete in "Oxywash Best Actor" hailed from Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Kerala, the release said The programme format would encompass the entire gamut of cinema, theatre, television, acting styles, modelling, etc.
As part of the grooming sessions, the contestants would be visiting reputed acting and theatre schools in the country. Well-known actors from the field of films and theatre would conduct training modules for contestants of "Oxywash Best Actor."
The elimination and advancement of contestants to further rounds of the reality show would be based on public SMS voting- as in other talent hunt programmes of Amrita TV.
The winner of "Oxywash Best Actor" could enjoy a trip to Hollywood, besides, getting an opportunity to act in a Malayalam movie. The second prize would be a Suzuki Alto sponsored by Duroflex.
Amrita TV is also launching Sandhya Lekshmi, a new serial from Monday to Friday at 6.30 pm. According to the release, it is a rivetting family-oriented drama, which revolves around the friendship of two girls, whose lives undergo transformation as they get married.
More importantly, it underlines the unshakable faith of one of the characters in the power of God, despite all odds that she undergoes in life. It traverses the entire gamut of joys and sorrows in a family by underscoring the importance of faith and fate, the release said.
The star cast includes Sukumari, Rizabava, Sarath, Rajeev, Seena Antony and Dhanya Menon. The serial is directed by S Janardhanan
Amrita TV started telecasting from September 1 Super Dancer Pure Gold, every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm. Super Dancer Pure Gold presents the very best moments of Super Dancer, along with a freshly choreographed dance number in every episode, the release says.

I wonder why Haindava Keralam is exited about Amrita TV's programmes listed above, which have nothing to do with Hindutva? What has the selection of the best or worst actor to do with what we stand for? Please do not feed trash.
