Sabarimala: Pig's Droppings instead of Aravana 11/18/2007 4:24:55 AM Courtesy: www.dailypioneer.comSabarimala: The conditions for the devotees who reach the temple is poor and to a certain extent worst with the long pandals almost covered with the leftovers of the droppings of the pigs which roam about.Another sorry state of affairs is the failure of the Communist Dewaswom president CK Guptan and his non believing colleagues not being able to provide one of the most important prasadam from Sabarimala, aravana payasam. The devotees who comes to this hill shrine generally takes home good quantities of this prasadam to distribute among the friends and families. According to the new stipulations of the board each devotee is allowed only five packs of it which is no match for the huge demand.The complain is that the aravana and appam, two prasadams of the lord, has to be produced in huge quantities and those who are running the administration of the temple must have a basic idea of what the consumption is and how it could be sorted out. While the Dewaswom Minister had worked round-the-clock to put the temple and its administration in place several party leaders and bureaucrats were against the decisions taken by the Minister who was trying to give as many powers to the concerned Thantri in running the affairs of the temple.In places like Malabar this is considered a must take-home with relatives and close friends waiting for the devotee to return back to have their share of the prasadam.The Hindu organisations have already come out against the poor arrangements in Sabarimala as also the infrastructural problems faced in this temple town.

In this report the Devasom Minister comes through as a good guy, what with his working round the clock and trying to give as much power to the thantri as possible and all that. Have they changed the Devasom Minister or has Sudhakaran transformed?
