Amarnath talks fail, Hindus to Intensify Agitation

09/08/2008 09:01:51 HK
JAMMU: The talks between the Central team and the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti (SASS) failed on Saturday.
"The team did not come up with a concrete proposal. They kept repeating what happened in the meeting in New Delhi. We reiterated our demands. The meeting was inconclusive," Samiti convenor Leela Karan Sharma said.
He said the agitation would continue.
Earlier, People's Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti, who was leaving the venue before the meet, said any solution that was not acceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be arrived at.
In response, Sharma said, "The same is with us. We won't agree to any solution that is acceptable to the people of the state."
Leaders from the Kashmir Valley, including National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, People's Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti and Saifuddin Soz, were kept out of the meet as demanded by the Samiti.

Solution without allotment of land?
Dear LK, The 'solution' proposed is that everyone should go by a High Court order which does not talk of allotment of any land to Amarnath temple. Are you agreeable to this solution? I would think if we agree, we would have been roundly duped.

amarnath issueFriends,Ms.Mufti says that kashmir belong to kashmiris, and outsiders aren't allowed to buy land there. She sympathize with kashmiri traders(mostly muslims) but not a word of sumpathy for the hindus who have been evicted from the valley...Why?Why not they give their lands back in the first place?Just plain religious fanatism of which BJP is accused of, incorrectly? In india, if anyone raises concern for hindus, then he is communal, but if its for muslims then he is secular...This is the order of the day.

Fooled yet again?
Hindus are on the brink of being fooled yet again. I understand there is a move to make the Hindus accept that the title of the land does not matter, what matters is only the facilities. The Hindus of Jammu began their agitation when the transfer of land to Amarnath shrine was cancelled. If after 50 days of agitation through great suffering the Hindus are going to be told to forget about the transfer of land, then it would be a fact that Hindus have once again been fooled out of their rights in favour of forces which support separatism.
