Shihab Thangal may be a religious head but certainly not a spiritual head if by spiritual we mean the becoming free of all dependence. A Hindu becomes a sanyasi as a mark of his pilgrimage into freedom. But here the Muslim religious head, not having been taught anything in his religion about freedom but rather to be an abject slave of Allah, guides himself by the best slave of Allah - Prophet Mohammad. Mohammad, quite henpecked during his marriage to Khadija, elder to him, had, no sooner Khadija passed away, strung up a series of marriages, including with pre-puberty Ayesha. Therefore Shihab Thangal's example proves that being a Muslim only means becoming a member of a well-knit organisation. How they talk of a month of fasting as a penance to inculcate higher values. Obviously Shihab Thangal’s many years of fasting, month by month upto his 71st year, was actually not about lessons learnt during fasts, but of the senses awakened during the intense feasting after the fast. I have said this much not to point out that Shihab Thangal is a lesser person for having married at this advanced age - that is his freedom and he may have his own personal reasons - but to point out that this sense of renunciation is lacking in Islam.

Dear Venu,

The religion Mr. Venu believes not only advocates extreme superstition but also divides human on caste and creed. People like Venu from dawn to dusk shape up his or her life on the advice got from palm readers and believing stars or astrology. The same Venu chooses auspicious time for house warming and wedding ceremonies and celebrate or mourn majority of the days in a year on various label as part of faith. Even if a cat is crossed, he or she believes that the day is of bad omen or inappropriate to do the wok planned. Therefore, with due respect I would like to say that a man or sect of this kind does not deserve to allege that Muslims or Shihab Thangal’s are abject slaves for God.

As believed by Venu that fasting in Islam is not one to abstain from sexual contacts in whole life, but an occasion to limit all his or her desires thereby a God fearing life onwards. A Muslim is not barred from having sex with his wife after breaking the fasting in the evening. Islam does not instruct any Muslim or Mullah that he should accept Sanyasm or he is allowed to do so while it is mandatory that they should be part of the society. In Islam, relinquishing all blessings including his kith and kin and people in his surrounding is a sign of coward and sin as well.
The complaint of Mr. Venu is that Shihab Thangal got married for second time when he reached at his 71 thereby he did not know the meaning of true fasting. Dear Venu, Islam never insists that wife and husband should live together in their whole life bearing all the differences and difficulties between them emerged. If the problem is found unsolved both have freedom to choose their own way systematically and sympathetically. Since Islam knew, very well the varying physical, mental and social conditions of man and woman, permitted them to marry after the death of their partner, and allowed man to maintain more than one wife at a time conditionally as well. People like Venu who always focus the edict of Islam on marriage do not open their mouth against the promiscuity in prevalence in occidental areas, where their desires do not limit within four but hundreds. For Venu, the problem is that Islam limits this within four while the same Venu proudly would claim that Lord Krishnan maintained 1000 wives. Try to learn the subject before opens mouth.

Best regards,

Mr. Venu,

I guess you are a Dravid..aren't you. If you were a Brahmin you will not post this type of nasty things. You will learn religioun and will respect the humanbeings.

Because you are a Dravid, you hate the mankind. As per your religion you are not considered as a human being. I invit you to learn Islam and then you neven criticize anyone. Although Shihab Thangal passed away, your post will last as an evidence of your quality. May almighty the God, send his gift what you deserve.
